About Shay

When i was in elementary, I used to paint roses and wine glasses in front of fire places, and mountains with waterfalls and flowers - a true romantic and an old soul for sure. As I've grown into the woman I am now, that romanticism still pours from the core of my being. I'm moved by beautiful things, by love, by connectedness, by nature. My mandala work was once solely about meditation and focus. And though that is still a part of the process, it's become more about sharing beauty and the ideas of interconnectedness with the world. Making them for people to view, share, and feel their movement gives me great joy - and I hope everyone who encounters one of my pieces feels that as well. It's important to remember how connected we all truly are. And in taking care of others, we take true care of ourselves and our world.

I'm passionate about reuse and sustainability and have the privilege of working for an amazing nonprofit Creative Reuse Center called SCRAP. I fortunately have access to tons of reusable creative materials every day and find myself being inspired by them frequently. The majority of my materials used in art making are reused/upcycled. So when you purchase a piece from me, outside of prints, know that the materials were sustainably sourced and that you are going to receive a truly unique piece of artwork or jewelry.

I sell my products at local markets in Denton, TX and the surrounding areas as well as here through the site. If you notice something you really like is sold out, feel free to contact me and make a request.

In addition, I'm available for commission work and would love to create something beautiful for your space.
